Transition Town Payson came out of a meeting between five people on March 15th 2012. Those five people were sufficiently concerned about the future of Payson, the US and the World during the time of “Peak Oil”, Economic Uncertainty, and Climate Change and associated issues, that they wanted to join the rapidly growing number of communities across the US and the World and be a Transition Town for our community. A Transition Town will build upon the sustainable efforts that have already begun, increase networking, and identify new areas where we can make positive changes in the way we do things in the future.
